About Jeanne

Howdy Y'all! I feel like that’s something I’m required to say, since I am from Texas!

Well First Things First, My name is Jeanne, pronounced like Genie. Most people pronounce it wrong. I remember wanting to add an 'i' to my name when I was younger so that people would know how to pronounce it, but it has grown on me in my 21 years of existence. I am from Windcrest, TX (basically San Antonio, GO SPURS GO!!) I am currently attending Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas and I will be graduating in August of 2011 with my Bachelors in Finance. While at Texas Tech I a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority and I love it! I have met some of the most amazing, beautiful, smart and strong women and I am PROUD to call them sisters.

I have always been bigger, I’m not sure exactly when but I think it was in 4th grade was when I had to switch to junior sizes, I was an 11. The next thing I remember is going uniform shopping for 6th grade and having to get size 16 pants. By 8th grade I was an 18 and I have stayed at 18 all through high school and college so far. The highest weight I remember seeing was after my senior year in high school, at 220. During my freshmen year in college at Clemson University in South Carolina I worked out a lot (not as hard as I am now!) and I got down to about 210. Fast forward to fall 2009, I started partying and drinking a lot more with my friends. And drinking really piles on the pounds! I got up to 218 and in Jan 2010 I started taking Phentermine, which suppressed my appetite. By the end of Feb 2010 I was down to 209, and I felt great! At my Job on Campus a few ladies started Weight watchers and were losing weight and I was happy to be losing weight, but not having to try as hard as they were. I stopped taking the pills, because I feel out of the habit. I turned 21 in March of 2010 and I started spending a lot of time at Chimys, which is a college taco and margarita shop. I could tell I was putting the weight back on, and the ladies at work (you'll hear about them a lot, Elizabeth(aka MOM) and Shelley (aka aunt Shelley)) talked to me about weight watchers and we came to the conclusion that it would be manageable for somebody my age, and that it was a lifestyle change and not a diet, so as long as I plan I can still have the drinks with my friends and enjoy "being young," On April 22 Is started weightwatchers weighing in at 214.8. That weekend I went back to San Antonio with some of my sorority sisters to celebrate fiesta! I was afraid that I wouldn’t lose because I had way too much to drink, but I tracked everything, I managed to not be in the red. I ended up losing 5.6 pounds my first week.

In the Middle of May I had to make my cross country move to Vancouver, WA for my summer internship. I was very excited about this opportunity to not only have an internship on my resume, but to also get to experience some thing completely new for the summer. In the first two months I’ve been up here I’ve lost about 7 pounds.
